Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Y. Dunn is the Senior Army Instructor at Ripon High School JROTC.
Lieutenant Colonel Dunn was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army during the year of 1974 as a Distinguished Military Graduate of the ROTC Program at the University of Tennessee Tech, Cookville, Tennessee as a Signal Corps Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing.
Lieutenant Colonel Dunn is also a graduate of the Signal Basic Course, Armor Advanced Course, Army Flight School, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Before LTC Dunn came to RHS JROTC, he was a Senior Army Instructor for the Army/Naval Academy located in Southern California. Before becoming the SAI at the academy, he was the commander of the U.S. Army Southern California Recruiting Battalion. Prior to assuming the command of the recruiting battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Dunn was Division Chief, Aviation Directorate, Headquarters, TEXCOM. Other assignments include: Platoon Leader and Executive Officer, 82ND Aviation Battalion, 82ND Airborne Division, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina; Company Operations Officer/Battalion Staff, 8th Aviation Battalion, 8th Infantry Division, Germany; Company Command/Brigade Staff, 7th Aviation Brigade, 7th Infantry Division Light, Ft. Ord, California; Company Commander, 2ND Aviation Brigade, 2ND Infantry Division, Korea; Attack Battalion Executive Officer/Calvary Executive Officer/Brigade S-3, 4th Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Ft. Carson, Colorado.
Lieutenant Colonel Dunn's military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal, the Flight Qualification Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.
Lieutenant Colonel Dunn resides in Ripon with his wife Nancy. They have two daughters, Kimberly and Barbara.
